Tonsillectomy

After a fitful and fearful night’s sleep, I woke up and took James to get his tonsils out. He was a sweetie and the surgery went really well. He’s been eating and drinking well and not throwing up. Mostly he’s done great! But about two hours before he can take more medicine he starts hurting! And poor guy, you can just tell he is miserable. My day has been focused almost exclusively on helping him feel better and get rest. We’ve focused on healing and hydrating! And I’ve encouraged him to play games and watch Bluey with me to distract himself a bit. Peter and William and Ryan have helped. They had a good Valheim session this evening. Peter and William also had pretty epic days. Peter confronted Eric and Eric decided he didn’t want to stop flirting with other girls so he broke up with Autumn. Peter also did great on a geography test and an English presentation! And William wrote an amazing and honest and funny letter of defense for his passage which is tomorrow! I am so proud of all three of my boys! And so grateful to be their mom. And William’s medicine seems to be helping. Which is amazing and so hopeful.

I feel sad that James is hurting, but I feel hopeful tonight. And grateful. Ryan works from home tomorrow too. Which is so nice. I know I will sleep better tonight. Ryan is doing the first medicine dose at 11, and I’ll do the 5 am one. And no work tomorrow.

Thankful for the hope that is in Christ. The hope I feel about our future and our family. I love them and Him so much. Time to sleep now.
