June 6: camping in our backyard and other delights of the day
I am happily resting in a hammock right now. I can see the tree branches above me and a few stars and James is to my East and William to my west. Peter opted to sleep in his bed and so did Ryan. But we’ve had a great evening. We roasted hotdogs and made s’mores and have relaxed in the hammocks. I was disappointed when the van started acted up on our way up the canyon. And the Dutch oven wouldn’t open, and there were not camping spots at fort Buenaventura. It seemed that we were being pulled back to our home. And I was sad, but just until I got in my hammock. It is so comfy and relaxing. And I could feel the stress melting away. So thankful again for Ryan putting up the hammocks and helping me and all of us deal with disappointment. James has a rather bad cold anyway. I’m hoping it’s not COVID. The home test was negative. And it is time to trade in the van. Too many small and not so small issues!
