June 13: Thrival vs. Survival

It’s been a really great Monday, and Peter got antibiotics for his strep—yep, he had it too, dang it! And William finally got to play an online game with Cadee. And James made a really cool stick tool to use when playing William Ball! He is a great inventor! We stuck to the 2 hour screen rule unless you do Mom Jobs. That was a little hard to adjust to for all of us. And I am in full battle mode right now in my cycle. Things that don’t usually bother me we’re bothering me. I ate a brownie too. And it was delicious. I helped Peter pack for Sons of Helaman camp tomorrow. I’m glad he will be able to go. I hope he has a great time. He did most of the packing himself. He is so independent. But he loves me and still needs help sometimes. And as my kids get older I can help them and support them in their learning and independence. And I am so lucky to be his mom.

Beautiful cool rain today! The high was 68. It’s been so hot the last two days, but today was so cool and beautiful! I love this weather.

And I was introduced to the word Thrival—which is love-based—thriving, not just surviving, which is fear-based. Learned all about it from Alone season 2. I want to flourish and thrive, along with my amazing family. And live motivated by love, not fear.
