Writing for May 30

Memorial Day was wonderful and I want to remember it. So I’m writing about it this morning, Tuesday morning. We slept in a little. We spend time outside working on the garden, and Ryan took William and Peter to see the new top gun movie. I went with William to help take care of the cows in the evening and we fed five baby cows from bottles. We had delicious French toast for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, and clam chowder for dinner. It snowed in the mountains and was really cold and rainy most of the day with some brightness right at the end. Ryan and I went to wash his car, and it was nice to have a few minutes to ourselves. William got his haircut, Peter had a guitar lesson, James went with me to the grocery store. It was a great day, and it felt a little bit like summer in spite of the cold. Now the boys have three little days left of school, and there are so many things I want to do to prepare for the summer, and I know I won’t have time for everything. But I do really appreciate yesterday. It was a golden gem of a day with lots of rain and some sunshine and beautiful green plants,  and lots of opportunities to be together and to share memories. Fun things like the boys and Ryan tried really hard to defeat Yaglif on Valheim.

And I did my walk away the pounds video that I haven’t done for years! It felt great! Just so many blessings and wonderful moments and simple things and it just felt good to be me and be alive. I felt Heavenly Father’s blessings upon us and felt so grateful for the Savior‘s love. I don’t know what this summer will bring, and my experiences the last 2 1/2 years have taught me that I should expect the unexpected! But I feel better prepared to face the unexpected, after a day like yesterday. I have my family, we love each other, and we can do this whatever this is!
